Tal y como comenté en otro mensaje que comentaba el mismo error, en el fichero friend.php cambia el código de la linea 49, y quitale la "," que está despues de "topic":
$result2=mysql_query("select title, time, topic, from stories where sid=$sid");
Tendría que quedar así:
$result2=mysql_query("select title, time, topic from stories where sid=$sid");
